Talk by Judith Kimerling at UFRJ

On May 26, Judith Kimerling (Political Science) spoke by invitation at the Laboratório de Antropologia e História (Anthropology and History Laboratory) at the Museu Nacional of the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro,  which is a premier anthropological and natural history research institution in Latin America.

Her talk,  “Oil, Contact and Conservation in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador: Indigenous Huaorani, Chevron and Yasuni”, addressed issues of sustainability, civic responsibility, and environmental justice. It was part of the activities of the Queens College Faculty/Staff Study Tour.
